Sealing him is the direction I think we should try first. Obviously. If that doesn't work, we split his soul apart, kill the stronger pieces, and then seal the weakest. If

I don't know how it works here, but splitting a soul and leaving part of it alive and sealed would be the worst course of action from my view.
Souls don't depart in pieces. You would have to contain each piece, and worry that one piece could free or call the others.
