Yeah, we met a few weeks back. He helped me get away from a monster actually.

Both, but I'm more interested in what you really thought of him. I would have been surprised if you didn't recognize him for what he is after being near them in my false memory.

Yeah, I picked up on it pretty quickly but I didn’t want to assume. We get all types here. He’s confirmed it for me, though. [ because she gets her assumptions wrong so often ]

He’s much more chatty than you are, really likes to philosophize, and seems like an overall good guy. I like him.

You asked me once if there were any Vampires I would choose not to kill. He's one of the few I chose not to.

When we fought, it was obvious he was only drinking synthetic blood.
After traveling alone with a woman he loved and while seriously injured.

In a good situation I wouldn't expect most to go more than three days in close proximity to humans without feeding on them even if they didn't want to. He had almost everything stacked against him and he didn't even drink her blood without biting her to circumvent the curse.

So, you spared him because he’s got damn good self-control?

Because he put the human he loved above his own wellbeing when it would have been one of the hardest things for him to do.

That’s what people do when they love someone, even when it’s stupidly fucking difficult or dangerous. At least in my experience.

Is it really that rare among vampires?

Most people are not as willing or capable of suffering as much for the sake of another, no matter how much they think they would.

It's unheard of.

I've only met one other who had that level of self control, and even he failed in the end, and hired me to kill him for it.

Why would he ask for you to kill him for failing?

That was the first time he tasted human blood, perhaps he didn't think he could control himself after that.

That almost makes it sound like an addictive drug.

That's not a bad comparison, the hunger of the nobility is a terrible thing that even most vampires don't understand until they've been starved.

Do you think Mayerling will have problems here?

In a similar vein: how do you deal with this place?

It will be more painful and difficult, but I trust him to do everything in his power to avoid biting.

It's difficult, painful. I had to avoid a wide area around the lumenarium for months. It helps that most sleepers and beast blood smell terrible.

Will you need to kill him if he does bite someone?

[ :< ] Yeah, I bet. I imagine Lumenwood in general is the worst of the districts for you.

Is there anything that can be done to make shit easier on you?

If they survive the bite, yes. It's the only way to end the curse.

There are ways to suppress it but those don't end well.

The fact that you can kill with fire is better than what your guardian does. As long as you don't ambush me with a glass of fresh blood from a human or another sleeper, there's nothing you need to worry about.

Coldbloods are easier to be around.

How can it be suppressed?

I’m less worried and more… concerned because I care about your wellbeing and shit. [ things she does not like saying: that. ] I would literally never ambush you with a glass of blood, not unless something weird was going on. It helped Alucard when he was getting bitey but you two are very different.

Oh, hey, a positive to being a walking popsicle who can’t feel temperature. I’ll add that to my pros & cons list.
